French Gilded and Silvered Metal Monstrance

Monstrance with quadripod base in silver plated metal. . The whole is encircled by two cherubs on the upper part and two others on the left and right. The underside displays a cluster of grapes, leaves and wheat, referring to the body and blood of Christ. A radiance encircles the whole. The whole is surmounted by a braided Latin cross. The body is decorated with leaves, flourishes and cherubs. The foot displays on the main face an Agnus Dei on a Bible. The lateral sides display clusters of grapes. The back displays a triangle, symbol of the Holy Trinity. The feet are in the shape of a feline's paw. France 19th century signed monogrammed: EM under base
