Michel Herman (HEM) Art Deco Silver Overlay Black Glass Vase, The HEM Art Glassworks produced this elegant French Art Deco black glass vase from the 1930s, based on a design by Michel Herman. One side of the vase is decorated with a silver and salmon-pink glaze, creating an exotic fish motif. The vase is marked "HEM" on the side. The stamp on the bottom reads "Czechoslovakia," indicating that it was made in Czechoslovakia for the French and Belgian markets. Michel Herman was a renowned glassmaker in Paris during the 1930s. His signature on his pieces is known as "HEM." Czechoslovakia: circa 1930
