Rare Welded Steel Polychromed Cabinet by Paul Evans

Rare welded steel polychrom two door cabinet by Paul Evans U.S.A : circa 1972. This cabinet is hand made by Paul Evans and his assistant . The front doors are made by welding odd shaped pieces of steel together creating an abstract design , the different pieces are then individually patinated with acids and gold leaf to achieve a rich polychromed mosaic . The wood case is covered with a patinated copper patchwork design , the top is inset with a black slate. Provenance : Private collection Chicago
