From the provenance we also acquired an important buffet, a set of 3 nesting tables, a games table, a writing desk, and 3 other armchairs all by Jules Leleu. France.

Whimsical and rare wooden "Crossed Legs" stool by Jean-Claude Biraben. This piece was made as a prototype for a contest launched by Furniture Store Sicre in Toulouse France in 1975. Out of more than 130 propositions only 22 were chosen to be produced see image of article below published in Connaissance des Arts in 1975. Biraben created over hundreds of objects which have been the subject of many exhibitions since the early 1970's. He was inspired by the surrealist imagination and painting, which were admired by all survivors of this movement more precisely by André Breton and Benjamin Péret. France.
