- Overall in very good condition. The patinated iron surfaces present overall with light surfaces scratches and abrasions consistent with age and gentle use. Occasional areas of discoloration to the patina throughout consistent with age. The glass overall with light surface scratches, minor soiling concentrated to the areas behind the metal and occasional tiny spots of white house paint throughout.

Celestial Light Fixture
Unusual American wrought iron and bronze light fixture in the form of a globe with Zodiac ring in pierced bronze probably designed by Cass Gilbert and made for the Hartford CT based department store G. Fox and Co, circa 1918. The original store was destroyed by fire in 1916 and its replacement, designed by Gilbert, opened in 1918. This light was removed after a later remodeling and remained in the collection of the granddaughter of the founder, Beatrice Fox Auerbach. Can be used as shown, or wall or ceiling mounted. Can also hold a 24" diameter glass globe

Important pair of pineapple-form Murano glass table lamps resting on brass bases by Barovier e Toso, Italy: circa 1950. A similar example of this pair of lamps is shown in the Elvis Movie Jail house Rock .The pineapple lamp is an iconic design by Ercole Barovier. In the 13th century Angelo Barovier invented a revolutionary formula that made it possible to obtain an extraordinary characteristics of extreme transparency and brightness for glass blowing. Thanks to a decree issued by the Republic of Venice in 1455, Angelo Barovier was granted the exclusive right to produce “Cristallo Veneziano” (Venetian Crystal). What makes makes this glass making formula unique still used today through progressive refinements, is the total absence of lead and arsenic.
