Wrought iron sculpture by Amilcar Zannoni signed: "Amilcar Zannoni". Italy: circa 1970 Amilcar Zannoni, born August 7, 1922 in Bagno di Romagna in Emilia-Romagna (Italy) and died June 6, 2009 in Jœuf in Meurthe-et-Moselle (France), is a French sculptor of Italian origin who specialized in steel sculpture. In March 1962 he decorated the church of Moutiers and, in May 1971, he created the magnificent Valleroy monument dedicated to Soviet soldiers who died in deportation. He exhibited three years in a row (1971, 1972 and 1973) at the Salon des Artistes Français in Paris, then he exhibited in 1972, 1973 and 1974 at the Galliera Museum: painters witnesses of their time. In September 1981, he participated in the Minsk exhibition in Belarus. Amilcar Zannoni was named Knight of the Legion of Honor by decree of December 31, 1999
