Very fine George III mahogany serving table attributed to Thomas Chippendale
Very fine George III mahogany serving table attributed to Thomas Chippendale, the well figured serpentine top with deep under molding, the apron with central tablet featuring a carved snake handled urn with guttae drops, the apron with carved patera and foliate carved molding, the leg with fluted panels with pin hole details over tapering forms with carved money pattern and fluting and ending in spade feet, the whole with great surface and rich patination, the underside and back with distinctive red wash.

The Chippendale firm supplied several known serving tables of this form, all slightly different, for such commissions as Paxton House and Goldborough Hall.
